ROYALTY ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
South African Music Performance Rights Association (SAMPRA), a non-profit company based in Parktown, has a vacancy of a Royalty Administration Manager. This is a permanent position that reports to the Chief Distribution Officer. SAMPRA issues licences to music users, collects, manages and distributes royalties on behalf of its members.
MAIN PURPOSE
Overseeing the administration of Members’ works, and all related tasks – including, but not limited to, distribution-related tasks (e.g. matching), royalty query management, royalty adjustments and management and processing of notification of undocumented works.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement team development plans and facilitate staff performance
- Manage staff discipline and address poor
- Develop sectional operational and tactical plans, including annual
- Review and improve operational processes to enhance distribution
- Establish systems to ensure data and financial accuracy, including member works tracking, playlist tracing, and royalty adjustments.
- Strengthen inter-departmental workflows between Royalty Administration and Finance to ensure alignment.
- Administer copyright owner members and repertoire by updating metadata, processing notifications, and documenting works.
- Identify and resolve duplicated works and manage
- Assist in running and processing primary royalty distributions, ensuring accuracy and deadlines are met.
- Update track metadata (performers, copyright owners, ISRCs) across
- Link ISRCs to works through multiple sources to improve
- Support Customer Services with complex queries, ensuring resolution within 10
- Manage financial transactions arising from distributions, adjustments, and disputes in collaboration with Finance.

REQUIREMENTS
- Honour’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting or
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in statistics
- At least 3–5 years in a management
- Solid understanding of the music industry and finance
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word & Excel (intermediate level).
